TORRINGTON — Marion "Micki" Ann Lent, 65, of McKinley Avenue, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of George W. Lent.
Mrs. Lent was born in Torrington on Sept. 14, 1944, daughter of the late Martin and Marion (Stengel) Mostyn, and was lifelong area resident. Mrs. Lent taught second grade at Lake Garda Elementary School in Region 10 for more than 40 years before her retirement.
She enjoyed genealogy, researching her Irish and German ancestors, and spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and their families. She looked forward to and enjoyed shopping and spending time with her husband on their weekend jaunts to Maine.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Anita Lee Parker and her husband, Terry, of Muscle Shoals, Ala., Marion Agnes Lent of Canaan, and Ruth-Sarah Ann Mazzaferro and her husband, Mark, of Torrington; five grandchildren, Lance Cpl. Alexandre Lent, Tessa Parker, Caleb Parker, Isaiah Parker and Isabella Mazzaferro; a sister, Susan Sadowski of Torrington; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marianne and Philip Lent of Torrington; nieces, Susan Kellogg, Jennifer Lent, Mary Romano, Rebecca Davis, Roxanne Melaragno and Michelle Sadowski, and their families; and a beloved, faithful companion, Hannorah Penny Lent.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Bakersville United Methodist Church, 1087 Litchfield Turnpike, New Hartford. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call today at The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, from 6 to 8 p.m.
