Mary Catherine Fry, 97, of Hershey, formerly of the Newville and Drums areas, died Friday, October 7, 2011.

She was born March 7, 1914 in Hepburnville, PA, a daughter of the late William and Salome (Phillips) Mosteller. Mrs. Fry was a member of the the first class to graduate from the new Montoursville High School in 1932 also a member of the Big Spring United Lutheran Church in Newville and the Forest Park Nursing Home Auxiliary in Carlisle. She was a skillful and avid quilter. Surviving are 6 daughters, Rev. Joanne Young of Drums, Nancy Thumma of Boiling Springs, Sue Etta Kellner of Hershey, Rebecca Steward of Northampton, Judith Anne Casper of San Diego, CA, and Christine Icenhower of Arendtsville; 1 son, Rev. Samuel D. Fry, Jr. of Palmyra, 17 grandchildren, 1 foster granddaughter, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Diller Fry, Sr. Services will be held Monday, October 10, 2011, at 11 AM in the Big Spring United Lutheran Church, Newville. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Newville. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to her church at 101 Crossroad School Road, Newville, PA 17241 or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.. Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. in Hershey is handling the arrangements.
