Born July 29, 1911, in Fairplay, he was the son of the late Orvie O. and Clorinda M. Banks Moser.
He was employed by Western Maryland Railway for 44 years.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Brotherhood Railway Clerks.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret S. Rachor Moser; two sons, Joseph B. Moser of Sharpsburg and John W. Moser Jr. of Lafayette, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Roselyn Snyder, Grace Whittington and Mary Miller; and two brothers, Lloyd Moser and Lionel Moser.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Willard F. Rahn will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the benevolent fund of the Homewood Retirement Center, 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, Md. 21795
