Emma Morton Moseley was born on 25 Apr 1861 at "Wheatland", Buckingham Co., VA. She was christened on 23 Aug 1863 at Maysville presbyterian Church, Buckingham C.H., Buckingham Co., VA. Listed in the 1870 census, Buckingham Co., aged 8 years. Emma a devout person of strong convictions, but passive and without interests outside religion and immediate family. Mrs.Emma Moseley Eldridge, 70 years old, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. A.F.M. Smith, at Winjina, VA, after a brief illness, according to her daughter, Mrs. George T. Ross, who with her mother were visiting relatives in Virginia. Mrs. Eldridge, the widow of the late Rev. William M. Eldridge former pastor of the Paint Lick Presbyterian Church in Garrard County, the Walnut Hills Presbyterian church in Fayette County and the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Jesamine County, was apparently in good health when she left Richmond a few days ago. Mrs. Eldridge is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ross of Richmond, Circuit Court Clerk of Madison County, and Miss Elizabeth Eldridge, of Columbia, SC, two sons John Eldridge, of Jackson, Miss., and Arthur Eldridge, of Houston, Texas, her sister, Mrs. Smith, of Winjina, VA, and three grandchildren, Harry Francis, Arthur Francis and William Francis, of Richmond. Funeral services will be held Sunday at the residence of Mrs. Ross with Dr.D.L. Telford, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Manse cemetery at Paint Lick beside the body of her husband. She appeared on the census of 1880 at Buckingham Co., VA; and both parents listed as born in VA, but her mother, Lovinia lists her birth as PA, age 19 in the census. She married Rev. William Moseley Eldridge, son of John Eldridge I and Sarah Perkins Moseley, on 22 Jan 1891. She appeared on the census of 1920 at Paint Lick, Garrard Co., KY; is listed as Emma Moseley Eldridge. She died on 12 Sep 1931 at "Wheatland", Buckingham Co., VA, at age 70. She was buried circa 16 Sep 1931 at Manse Presbyterian Cemetery, Paint Lick, Garrard Co., KY.
