Bess Moseley Barr dies; rites Saturday
Bess Moseley Barr, 100, of Bowling Green died at 2:05 a.m. March 24, 1994 at her home.
The Warren County native was a homemaker, a member of the first freshman class at Bowling Green High School in 1908, from which she graduated, and attended St. Columbia Academy in Bowling Green and Bowling Green Business University.
She was a preservationist and was active in many cultural and civic affairs in Warren County. She was an original member of the Zoning Commission and a charter member of the League of Women Voters and Democratic Women.
She was a member of the Christian Science Society, the Chautaugua Club and the Warren County Historical Society, in which she was made a life member in 1990. She was also a member of the Samuel Davies Chapter of the American Revolution and was a member of several bridge clubs.
She was a daughter of the late Charles Henry Moseley and Susan Ann Phillips and the wife of the late Dr. Edward Wallace Barr.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, E. Wallace "Sonny" Barr and Dr. Robert M. Barr, both of Bowling Green; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren
