Alfonso James "Alfie" Moscone, 95, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008, Father's Day, in State College, PA. He was born March 30, 1913 in Millinocket and was the last surviving member of three sons, Arthur and Edmund and two daughters, Mary and Roma, born to Michael and Erminia (de Mayo) Moscone. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Eileen, just 2 ½ months ago, and they will be buried together, at the same time, as was their life long wish. Alfie was reported to be the oldest member of the Knights of Columbus in the State of Maine. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. After the CCC's, he was employed by the Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket for 44 years. Alfie's life was his family. Alfie and Eileen built the family camp together by hand. Alfie will be remembered as a kind man who never said a bad word about anyone.

He is survived by his five sons, Ken Moscone and his wife Kathleen (Civiello) of State College, PA, John Moscone and his wife Sharon (Berube) of Rochester, New Hampshire, Tom Moscone of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Tim Moscone of Millinocket, and Peter Moscone and his wife Iris of Miami, Florida. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
