Dorothy Mae Mosbarger of Friend was born February 19, 1918 in Friend to Dr. Frank and Minola (Moeller) Hamilton and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Friend Manor at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 10 days.
As a young girl she attended Friend Public School, graduating with the Class of 1935 and attended Wheaton College for a year. On January 2, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Dale Mosbarger and to this union a son, Keith was born. Dorothy was blessed with two step-sons, Brent and Stanley Mosbarger.
Together they made their home in a number of Nebraska and Colorado towns where Dale worked as a sales representative and manger for an agricultural supply company. Dorothy traveled with the Bookmobile out of Grand Island to several school locations in mid-Nebraska during this time. She also was employed as a nurse aide at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul and at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Grand Island.
As a young girl, Dorothy grew up attending the Congregational Church in Friend and upon her return to Nebraska in 2000, she attended the Friend Berean Church with her best friend, Edith Hansen. Dorothy resided at the Friendship Terrace in Friend until recently becoming a resident of the Friend Manor due to health issues. She had a wonderful, sweet personality and enjoyed visits by friends and neighbors. Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling when she was able, an especially memorable trip was one to San Diego to visit family.
Dorothy is survived by her step-sons and spouses, Brent and Eldene Mosbarger and Stanley and Bonnie Mosbarger, all of Colorado Springs, CO, two grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 29 step-great grand children, 5 great, great step-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Ruby Mosbarger of Hopkins, MN, sister Harriett Hendricks, Austin, TX, special friend and long-time caregiver, Pat Miller-Anderson, special friend, Kay Stinson and a host of friends and relatives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale in 1997, an infant son, son Keith, an infant great granddaughter, a step-great granddaughter, brothers, Perry John and Robert Hamilton, and sister Erma Tougher.
