EDEN - Norman E. Morway, 82, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, with his family at his side in his lifelong home in the room where he was born.

He was born April 16, 1929, in Eden, the son of George E. Morway and Lillian Morin Morway Lague.

Norman married Monique Gagner on Aug. 27, 1955, at St. Mary's Church in Cambridge.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era in Germany. Norman was employed at the VAG asbestos mines for 42 years. He was a member of VFW Post #9653 in Morrisville.

He enjoyed fishing, deer and bear hunting. He enjoyed life at his home with his family. He liked to visit people throughout the community and was always available to help people when needed. He always had dogs throughout his lifetime and passed with his dog, Jessie, at his side.

He is survived by his wife, Monique; his siblings, Andrew Lague of Hyde Park, Michael Lague and wife, Bonnie, of Eden, Bernadette Lague Spitzer of N. Hyde Park, and Elizabeth Lague of Burlington; nieces and nephews, James and Linda Jewett, James and Sharon Gagner, Dennis and Sara Langdell, Wendy and Wayne Demar, Robbin and Randy Hopkins, Scott Langdell, Bobby Gagner, Tina Oram, Andre Lague, Richard Spitzer, Wilbrod Spitzer, Jeannie and Donald Randall, Jessica Lague, Robert Lague, Jenny King and George Morway III; and in-laws, Gabriel Gagner, Robert and Jean Gagner, Marilyn Gagner, and Wendell Langdell.

Norman was predeceased by his parents; his stepfather, Maurice Lague; son, Norman "Brent" Morway; and brothers, Omer J. Morway, George E. Morway Jr., Pierre Lague, and David Lague.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Church. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn St., Morrisville.

Interment will be in the spring in St. Theresa's Cemetery in Hyde Park.
