Mary Caroline Vogelaar Morton, 79, passed away on July 23rd, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born to loving parents Peter Vogelaar and Mary Isabella Hamer Vogelaar-"Gommy" on September 8th, 1927. Carole had a very close relationship with her grandparents Growing up and her best friend Frances York. She graduated from South High School in 1944 and then worked for the Crippled Children's Hospital. Carole fell in love and married the love of her life John Wendell Morton on May 17, 1948. They shared 59 sweet loving years together raising their three children: Doug (Keren), Larry, Debby (Mike) Fleisch. "Honey" and Grandpa were lucky enough to have seven wonderful grandchildren: Jennifer Morton, Christopher Fleisch, Keri Feil, David Fleisch .the two "M" children Melissa Morton and Meghan Fleisch and Justin Morton they also have two great grandchildren, MaKenzie, and Madison Feil. And her special furry grand dogs Maggie and Molly that loved to visit grandma for their cookies. Carole was a beautiful sweet, fun wife and mother. She never tired of talking, listening and helping her family because they were the most important thing in her life. She devoted her whole life to her family and was such a great support to everyone. The greatest legacy she leaves is her unselfish example of devotion to her family. She knew what it took to keep the family together. Carole's children and grandchildren will always remember her enthusiasm for life, especially Christmas! Grandma would spend months planning, shopping, wrapping and planning for the family event. She loved nothing more than when the whole family was together. Carole was a very intelligent person, her grandkids used to tease her about her "useless knowledge" but in truth she knew a lot about everything. Carole spent many years volunteering at Cottonwood Hospital where she really enjoyed working in short stay surgery. Mom especially loved to travel to England to spend time with the long lost family members that they found a number of years ago. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary 372 East 100 South where friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Interment Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery 4th Ave. & T Street. Donations can be made to the University of Utah Medical Center IMCU.
