Dorothy Jean Mortensen, 89, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her home in Bella Vista. She was born on February 3, 1925 in Sandstone, MN to Svend Petersen and Ellen Wosgaard Petersen.
She moved to Bella Vista 30 years ago from Iowa. She was a member of the Shrine Ladies, American Cancer Society, the Theater and The Golf Classics. She enjoyed Golf, Bridge, and Quilting. She was a member of the Bella Vista United Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Mortensen, who died October 18, 2010, her parents, sister, Phyllis, brother, Byron and son-in-law, Dr. Ed Nemore.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Paul Mortensen (Jeanette) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Joel P. Mortensen (Carla) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters, Jill Mortensen of Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jan Mortensen of Bella Vista, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Anna Lise (Joe), Kristen, Kay, Tyler Britta, Eric, Sarah and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, Bella Vista, Arkansas.
