Iva Morrow Magana, age 93, passed away on November 9, 2008, in Salt Lake City.

She was born on February 8, 1915 in Rigby, ID to William Walter Morrow and Ida L. Simon Morrow. She married J.C. Magana on February 2, 1931. Iva passed away of natural causes with the peace, elegance, and grace that so defined her life. "Snookie" was the baby of nine brothers and sisters. She lived her life with passion, love, and devotion for her entire family. Everyone was made to feel special and important. A dedicated sister, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Iva was committed to the happiness and well being of each family member. She was especially proud of her 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Family was her most treasured accomplishment.

Iva, or "Baby Snooks," was known for baking fruit pies and cakes without a recipe. She always had a kitchen filled with a home cooked meal as she greeted family and friends at the door with a smile, familiar laugh and warm embrace. She dressed with style and flair always with earrings, lipstick, and a perfect up-do. Iva liked to garden and grow plants. She enjoyed lake fishing, vacations in Las Vegas, and the company of her pet dogs. She was often the first to nurture a sick family member or friend.

During World War II, Iva worked as a military wife for the war effort at the copper mine, "Snookie the Oiler." For many years she worked as a red cross volunteer. Iva was a receptionist for her husband's business. She also traveled across rural farm communities selling fabric remnants. Iva loved to ballroom dance. With her beautiful silver coiffed hair and sparkling gowns her radiant smile filled the room. As in life, Iva was the belle of the ball and forever beloved in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Richard) Brown, son David (Sharon) Magana, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband J.C. Magana, and beautiful daughter Jimalene Warath. And by eight brothers and sisters.

A Private Family Graveside Service was held on November 12, 2008 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
