OSKALOOSA- Cora Marie Crawford Bender, 74, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at her home in Oskaloosa. She was born December 9, 1935 at Leavenworth the daughter of Roy and Amanda Marie Magerfleisch Morrison.

Cora had lived in Oskaloosa since 1960. She was a 1954 graduate of Overbrook High School. She worked over 30 years for the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office and Law enforcement Center, retiring in 2006.

She was a member of the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the Jefferson County Republicans and served as a precinct committee woman for many years.

She served many years on the Jefferson County Election Board, the Oskaloosa Housing Authority and as the Jefferson County Salvation Army representative.

She married Willis Crawford on December 23, 1955 at Ottawa, they later divorced. She married Leroy Bender on December 31, 1986 at Oskaloosa, he survives.

She is also survived by two Sons, Alan Crawford, Mark (Jedena) Crawford, two Daughters, Debbie (Brad) Harries, Robin Pottorf, one Step-Son, Alan Bender, two Step-Daughters, Arlene Beurman, Lynn Patterson, all of Oskaloosa, three Brothers, Fred Hulce, El Paso, TX, Earl Hulce, Marietta, OH., John Hulce, Overbrook, two Sisters, May Gibson, Salina, Lila Fox, Overbrook, six Grandchildren and one Great Grandson.

She was preceded in death by a Grandson, Jacob Pottorf.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday at the Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Friday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Cremation is planned. Inurnment at Pleasant View Cemetery at a later date.
