Tammy Jo Carson, 46, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Feb. 6, 2013 at her home.
Tammy was born May 6, 1966 in Abilene to Dale and June (Hunter) Morrison.
The family moved to White City in 1972 where Tammy grew up, attending White City Schools and was a member of the White City High School graduating Class of 1984. Tammy enjoyed being a part of church, school and community activities while growing up. She was a member of the White City United Methodist Church.
She received her LPN degree from Flint Hills Vo-Tech and went on to receive her RN degree from Manhattan Vo-Tech. Tammy loved being a nurse and had served that profession over 20 years.
Tammy was united in marriage to Greg Carson.
Tammy loved sewing for her grandchildren and spending time with them and other family members and friends. She also loved being an active member of the churches she attended in the various places she lived.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Carson of White City; three daughters, Crystal Doty of Kansas City, MO, Melissa Allen of Overland Park, and Shawna Case of Manhattan, KS; step-children, John and Jessie Strandberg and Amanda and Travis Carson; eight grandchildren; her parents, Dale and June Morrison of White City; her grandmother, Ella Hunter of Council Grove; two sisters, Gina Weigel of Wakeeney and Penny Ash of White City; nieces and nephews and many other family members and special friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the White City United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, time to be announced.
