Kathleen A JENNENS, 69, Rt. 2, Akron, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at her residence. She had een in failing health for five years.
She was born Sept. 9, 1919 in Akron to Roy Jack and Loa [Grace HALDEMAN] MORRIS. On Aug. 4, 1944 in Valparaiso, she married Albert W. JENNENS, who survives. She was a lifetime resident of the Akron area. A retired school teacher, she taught for 30 years in the Akron, Gilead, Rochester and Merrillville schools.
She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church; a charter member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority of Butler University; Kappa Delta Phi Sorority of Akron, and a member of the Manitou Chapter DAR, Rochester Eastern Star, Indiana State Teachers Association, National Education Association and the Tippecanoe Valley Classroom Teachers Association. She was a 1927 graduate of Akron High School, received her bachelor's degree in education from
Manchester College, her teaching certificate in 1939 from Butler University, and her master's degree in education from St. Francis College, Fort Wayne.
Surviving with the husband are a sister, Betty TOMBAUGH, Claypool; nineteen nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding in death were a sister,
Suzanne GAST in 1986, and a brother, Jack D. MORRIS.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. George HAPNER officiating. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
