Pickens County Progress

Doris F. (Walker) Morris, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 after a 10-month battle with cancer.

The daughter of G. Pringleton and Kathy (Townsend) Walker, she was born and raised in Pickens County, Ga. After working for Stevens Graphics/Bell South for more than 37 years, she retired to Jasper in 1998.

Survivors include her children, William Randolph Morris, Chapel Hill, N.C., and Cathy Lynn Morris, Buford, Ga.; sister, Sadie (Walker) Crawford, Jasper; and brothers, Robert and Phillip Walker, both of Jasper; Along with her immediate family, she was blessed to spend her last days with her loving daughter-in-law, Beatriz B. Morris, MD, her grandchildren, Lauren and Alex Morris, her brother-in-law, Larry Crawford, and a host of good friends too numerous to mention.

The family asked that in lieu of flowers all contributions be sent to the Good Samaritan or Georgia Mountain Hospice in Jasper. As she wished, a memorial "celebration" service for Doris will be held at the First Baptist Church in Jasper.
