Chad Kristopher Morrill, 32, of Lacey, Wash., died early on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Wash. Chad was born on Sept. 15, 1978, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill., to Ray and Patt Morrill of Wheaton. He attended Whittier Elementary School, Edison Middle School and Wheaton Warrenville South High School. During that time, Chad was very active in baseball, basketball, football and camping with his family. He received his B.A. degree in sociology from Southern Illinois University in 2001. His love of the outdoors and hiking led him to the majestic mountains and forests of Washington state. When he was not working for Life Force Services as a supervisor and caregiver, he was exploring the region backpacking with his friends, co-workers and beloved dogs, Amaruqu and Coup. He will always be remembered for his free and easy smile and willingness to help and spend time with children. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfathers, grandmothers, two uncles and one aunt. Surviving are his parents; his sister, Jeneen Hiller of Downers Grove; brother-in-law, Tim Hiller; niece, Kiley; and nephew, Jack. A private interment will be held in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, on Sept. 15, 2011. Donations may be made in Chad's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
