Gwen Morrill, 52, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Memorial services also will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hobbs, N.M. Burial will be in Tridell Cemetery in Tridell, Utah.
Gwen was born March 15, 1955, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Clinton and Maxine Morrill. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1973. She was a member of the Taskervitch Pep Band. She attended college and played the trumpet in the marching bands at Brigham Young University and West Texas State University. She delivered packages for UPS for more than 27 years. She loved photography, computers, nature and all animals. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her parents, Clint and Maxine Morrill of Hobbs; a sister, Kathy Higgins and husband Kent of Fairview, Utah; two brothers, Bill Morrill and wife Joni and Ed Morrill and wife Kim, all of Hobbs; a dear friend, Lynda Damon and the Damon family of Amarillo; many nieces and nephews; and other friends.
The family suggests memorials be to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741-5000; or an Amarillo animal shelter.
