Chouteau, Neysa Carol Morrel born November 5, 1927.
Beloved wife and friend of James Chouteau for 60 years and of dear friend, Martha Alderson, for many years, died November 29 at Garden View Care Center after an extended illness.
She also leaves behind her nieces, Martha Baker Roberts (Tom) and Susan Baker (Steve Gibson); her cousins, Jeanne Morrel Franklin of Webster Groves, Nona Bueley of Oklahoma, Corlyss Disbrow, and Francine Kitchell; 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law; and many dear friends.
Neysa was an editor and author for many years with McGraw-Hill Book Company and prior to that with Webster Publishing Company. She continued to write and edit on a freelance basis after early retirement.
She was a mentor with Mentor St. Louis and an active co-member with the Loretto Community. Her kindness and keen sense of humor are among the qualities that will be sorely missed by family, friends, and community members.
Services: A memorial service on Saturday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m. Loretto Center , 590 E. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves 63119 (on the campus with Nerinx Hall High School), with reception to follow. Memorial gifts may be given to Loretto Community, 4000 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Littleton, CO 80123-1308 (Development Fund or Hunger Fund) or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, P.O. Box 451429, Atlanta, GA 31145-9429 or a charity of your choice.
