Garret H. Morley, 67, a resident of Brewster since 1945, died Wednesday in the Brewster hospital after a lingering illness.
Mr. Morley was born Nov. 14, 1911, at Spokane, grew up in Grandview and later moved to Kettle Falls. In 1933 he married Merle E. Mathews at Colville. They lived in Evans before moving to Brewster in 1945.
Mr. Morley held memberships in St. James Episcopal Church, Brewster and the Eagles and had served as a fire commissioner in Douglas County. He was an avid camper and fisherman.
For 24 years Mr. Morley worked in the fruit, worked in the fruit, employed by Roy Westerdahl, retiring in 1977.
Surviving are his wife, Merle, at home; two daughters, Judy Cox, Brewster and Lois Clum, Spokane; two sons, Larry, Brewster and Garry, Auburn; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Morley was preceded in death by a grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30 at 2 pm from the Barnes Chapel in Brewster with the Reverend Jerry Lewis officiating. Committal services and interment followed in the Brewster Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the Cancer Fund. Services under direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
