Julia Jean Morlan, 71, of Carbon, IN passed away at Union Hospital April 13, 2012 after a brief illness.
She was born in Greencastle May 28, 1940 the daughter of Dallas and Leaettia (McMurray) King and graduated from Brazil High School. Julia had worked as a cook for several area nursing homes as well as at Bridgeton School. She also worked at Pages Deli and Cord Factory in Brazil. Julia enjoyed the annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival where she spent the week selling crafts. Another enjoyment of her life was as a volunteer at the Clay County Community Theatre where she worked in the kitchen.
She married Clarence Morlan January 2, 1987. Together they enjoyed gardening and canning, mushroom hunting and shopping at flea markets. Julia was also accomplished at woodworking, wood crafts and scrapbooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dallas and Leaettia King; brothers: Dallas King Jr. and Tommy King and a sister Jody Wallace.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Morlan; two sons: Richard Alan Amers (Sherri) and Michael Lee Amers (Sandy); grandchildren: Ricky Amers, Sammi Amers; Hope Noble, and Kyle Thomas; great grandchildren: Nick Lamon and Lindsey Noble; sisters: Sandy Lee and Marcia McMahon; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be at French Funeral Home, in Brazil, April 17, 2012 at 7:00pm with visitation from 5:00pm until time of services. At her request cremation will follow.

Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
