Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Mathieu, 55, of North Olive Street, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, in Loving, N.M.
Jacqueline Marie Mathieu was born in Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, on March 11, 1957, to Adrien and Simone (Saidon) Morin. The family moved to the United States in 1969. Jackie was raised and educated mostly in Arizona and Grants, N.M., where she graduated high school. She moved to Carlsbad in 1988.
Jackie's work history includes employment at Albertson's, where she was the manager of the Butcher's Block. She moved to Colorado for a short time and worked with her brother Grant in construction and was later employed at CARC Inc. She was also a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She loved animals, especially her cat "Sophie."
Jackie was a very talented artist and was especially good with beading, painting and ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Brian Morin.
Jackie is survived by her life-time companion, Mickey Jackson; daughter, Kristin Jimenez and husband, Orlando, all of Carlsbad; brothers: Bob Morin and wife, Cheryl of Cubero, N.M., Grant Morin and wife, Debbie of Loving; grandchildren: Trinity Franco, Alanah and Layla Jimenez, all of Carlsbad; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
