In memory of Gloria Mary Morgan Broadbent who returned to her Heavenly Father and her husband, Tom, on April 22, 1992.

Born December 13, 1923 to Maud Walters Douglas and Earl Caldwell Morgan in Weiser, Idaho. She moved to Salt Lake County early in her life and attended William Penn Elementary as a young girl. After achieving a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah, she returned to William Penn and Libbie Edwards Elementary Schools as a certified librarian to labor with younger children for 22 years until she retired in 1984 from the Granite School District. She loved good books, good music, and the value of a good education and leaves behind a legacy of learning.

She married Thomas Karl Broadbent Oct. 6, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he preceded her in death February 28, 1956. Together they had three children. 14 grandchildren now represent her posterity, all of which she loved and numbered among her many blessings of this life. She loved reading them stories and taking them each on walks.

She was a lifelong active member of the Valley View 5th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was always involved in callings in the church, most recently as ward chorister and in the special interest program.

She was ever-active in genealogical research of her ancestors. She dedicated hours to the writing of several family histories feeling the desire to preserve and expand her pioneer heritage of which she was so proud. She lived by the saying "if something is worth doing, it is worth doing well."

She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and a hostess on Temple Square.

She was especially proud of the opportunity to serve the Lord in her Temple Square calling. She wanted to do more, however her health became increasingly a factor.

Always sincere, earnest, and generous, she is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas K. Broadbent and his wife, Daryl; daughters, Mrs. Brad (Marianne) Caldwell, Casper, Wyo.; and Mrs. Guy (Jane) Morris, Salt Lake City; her beloved brothers and sisters, E. Phillip Morgan, Earl D. Morgan, Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) Neville and Mrs. Al (Jean) Lindsay.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 27, 1992, 12 noon in the Valley View 5th Ward, 2125 E. Evergreen Ave. (3425 So.). Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church Monday from 10:45-11:45 a.m.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
