Funeral for Frances Morgan Gardner, a retired banking secretary from Lake Oswego, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Adams Chapel of Riverview Cemetery. Entombment will follow.
Mrs. Gardner died Saturday in a local hospital at age 79.
She was born in International Falls, Minn., and moved to Portland in 1910. A graduate of Lincoln High School, she worked several years as a secretary for Portland Trust and Savings before moving to San Francisco in 1927. She was secretary to the executive vice president in charge of investments at the Bank of America in San Francisco for six years before returning to Portland in 1933. Mrs. Gardner worked at the First National Bank of Oregon in the investment department until her marriage in 1935. She then moved to Lake Oswego.
Survivors include her husband, W. Harry Gardner; two daughters, Judith Ann Boyle of Vancouver, Wash., and Pamela J. Browning of Butterville; and five grandchildren.
