Shirley Earnie Morgan, 71, born 22 Feb 1905, of Argyle, passed away Friday morning, 25 Dec 1976, in Memorial Hospital in Waycross following a short illness.
A native of Wayne, now Brantley County, she was a daughter of the late Gordon Franklin Morgan and Queen Mary Moody Morgan. For a number of years she resided in Fernandina Beach, FL, and in more recent years had resided in Argyle.
Survivors are her husband, William Benajah "Will" Arnold of Argyle; two sons, McCoy Arnold of Manchester and Jesse D. Arnold of Lewis, IN; four sisters, Cindy Morgan and Nancy Morgan, both of Nahunta, Eula Roberson of St. Simons Island; and Lovie Wildes of Brunswick; one brother, Frank Morgan of Patterson; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, from the chapel of Chambless Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Arnold officiating, assisted by Rev. Arlen Arnold. Burial was in Rob Lewis Cemetery at Raybon.
Pallbearers were Paul V. Morgan, Jerome Arnold, Jr., Tommy Arnold, Conway Morgan, Bart Smith, and Darvin Smith Jr.
Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
