Gastonia - Miriam Wagner Morgan, 87, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Covenant Village.
She was a native of Roselle Park, New Jersey, born February 4, 1919 to the late Gilbert Charles Wagner and Susie Clark Wagner.
INTERMENT: Gaston Memorial Park
Mrs. Morgan lived in Woodcliff, NJ until age 10, moved to Leonia, New Jersey through high school. Her children Martha and Charles, Jr. were born in New York City while Charlie was interning and Residency and Mary Alice was born in Gastonia. She received her RN at Columbia University-Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. Attended Episcopal Church in Leonia and St. Marks in Gastonia, where she was Circle leader and member of Vestry (Junior Warden) and church choir . Active in PTA at Victory School and Ch. of Gaston Day School Mothers Association. Past President and member of Gaston County Medical Aux., charter member of Debutante Club. Volunteered as Red Cross nurse from 1941 through 1989. Helped with Hospice as a volunteer RN and later as an employee for 8 yrs., also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Her hobbies include sewing, needlepoint, quilting and gardening. She also loved to grow orchids with her husband.
SURVIVORS: Son: Charles H. Morgan, Jr. and wife Ruth Anne of Lexington, KY.; Daughters: Martha Morgan Howe and husband Terrance Gary Cooper of Memphis, TN; Mary Alice Morgan and husband Gary A. Richardson of Macon, GA.; Grandchildren: Jennifer Susan Morgan, Benjamin Charles Morgan, Matthew McCall Richardson, Kathleen Morgan Richardson; Great Grandchildren: Aidan Cooper, Victoria Cooper, Cecelia Cooper and Brenna Cooper; sister, Alice Ann Willis and husband Allen of New Jersey
