Mr. Ruben "Lawton" Morgan, Jr., 68, died Thursday afternoon (June 28, 2012) at his residence after a short illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross where he operated Morgan's Trim Shop. He was also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
He is the son of the late Ruben Lawton Morgan, Sr. and Maude Lee Morgan. He is preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Morgan; one brother, James Lee Morgan; and two sisters, Olae Mae Cribb and Helen Stewart.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Yvette Reynolds Morgan of Waycross; four children, Lisa Morgan Corbitt (husband Lester) of Blackshear, Wayne Morgan, Leiann Morgan and Jeffrey Morgan all of Waycross; ten grandchildren, Brooke Martin (husband Cuyler), Daniele Lively, Brandi Hargiss, Devan Morgan, Dylan Morgan, Ryan Morgan, Kyle Morgan, Les Corbitt, Chriss Corbitt and Cole Corbitt; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Lamar Morgan of Perry, FL; one sister, Patricia Stewart of Waycross; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday (July 1, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at his residence, 1457 Rube's Lane, Waycross, GA 31503.
