Wilma "Hope" Hughart, 90, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Greenville, Ill., to the late Wilmer and Maude (Davis) Morgan.
She married Richard W. "Bill" Hughart June 21, 1975. He survives.
She was a meat wrapper at Tri City Grocery for 25 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Wood River Post 2859 Auxiliary, East Alton American Legion Post 794 Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Wood River Moose Lodge 1349.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four daughters, Karen Signorino and husband, Ross, of East Alton, Norma Spano and husband, Leo, of Wood River, Judy West of Wood River and Janet Girrbach and fiance, Steve Wilbur, of Gilbert, Ariz.; a stepson and his wife, Jim and Mary Kay Hughart of Fieldon; nine grandchildren, Karla Burgess, Carolyn West, Jimmy West, Leo Spano, Ryan Spano, Denny Doerr, Misty Koshinski, Sherri Smith and C.J. Girrbach; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Hattery of Orlando, Fla.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Daymond West; three brothers, Paul, Bob and Bill Morgan; and a sister, Ruth Hinkle.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 1, at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2. The Rev. John Blackmore will officiate.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital.
