Mrs. Leona Morgan Dixon, 86, died Saturday (November 15, 2008) at Pierce County Nursing Home following a long illness.

She was a native of Pierce County and had lived most of her life in Pierce and Ware County. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ora Lee Lowman; her parents, James "Jim" Morgan and Jackie Morgan; three sisters, Naomi Sellers, Louise Todd, and Reginald Young.

She was a member of Second Baptist Church and was the former owner of the Corner Café in Blackshear.

Survivors include her husband, C.W. "Whit" Dixon of Waycross; a daughter, Mildred Millie Todd Brune (husband Dennis) of Atlanta; a son, Johnny Herman Todd of Macon; a sister, Jewell Weaver of Cadiz, KY; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday (November 17, 2008) at Second Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Sunday night from 6 until 8 and Monday from 1 until 2 at the Church.
