Estelle M. Mercer
Estelle Morgan Mercer, 95, of Mainor, passed away Thursday (Sept. 6, 2007) at Clinch County Memorial Hospital in Homerville, following an extended illness.
A native of Coffee County, now Atkinson County, she was born Jan. 2, 1912, the daughter of Randall B. and Nancy Mclendon Morgan. She made her home in Lake City, Fla. before moving to Manor seven years ago.
She was a nursery worker and member of Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Mercer, and one brother, David E. Morgan.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Sue Alford, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mary (Bobbi) Lindsey, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Linda Polk, of Amarillo, Texas; two grandsons, Ben Lindsey (wife Pat), of Cairo, and Wayne Lindsey, of Anchorage, Alaska; a niece, Lillian Crumbley, of Manor; one daughter-in-law, Thelma Corbitt Lindsey, of Amarillo, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy in Manor with the Rev. Billy Cox officiating.
Interment will follow at Camp Branch Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday, to lie-in-state, where the family will receive friends until the funeral hour at 3. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
