Mrs. Alice Ardellia Corbitt Morgan, 69, died Wednesday (November 5, 2008) at Waycross Health and Rehab following a long illness.
She was a native of Waycross and had lived most of her life in Ware County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Corbitt and Ola Carter Corbitt; an infant son; a daughter, Jeanell Alice Morgan; and two brothers, Tillman Corbitt and Ray Corbitt.
In her younger years she worked as a housekeeper and CNA at Ware Manor and Baptist Village. She was a member of Crossview Church of God of Prophecy. Her faith was immeasurable. After becoming disabled, she was a homemaker.
She was a caregiver to her grandchildren whom she adored. Her talents were cooking, baking, crocheting, and sewing. She enjoyed fishing, collecting what-nots, and pictures. She loved reading and quoting from the Bible. She was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord. She was truly a blessing to her family and will be missed dearly by all.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Raymer Morgan of Waycross; a daughter, Kaye Morgan of Waycross; a son, Ralph Morgan of Waycross; four grandchildren, Angela Sweat (husband Ryan), Adam Morgan, and Holly Morgan all of Waycross, Allyson Briola (husband Steven) of Blackshear; two great grandchildren, Kerrigan Sweat and Christopher Briola; a sister, Irene Johns (husband Randall) of Blackshear; a brother, Charlie Corbitt (wife Ailene) of Waycross; a ½ sister, Lucy Gilbert of Douglas; a ½ brother, Avery Corbitt of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (November 8, 2008) at Crossview Church of God of Prophecy.
Burial will be in Mt. Green Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Friday night from 7 until 9.
