Loretta M. (Morgan) Mannings, 79, of Avon, wife of Albert Mannings, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at Bristol Hospital. Loretta was born in Bristol June 15, 1928, and was a daughter of the late Clayton and Theresa (Sheehan) Morgan. She was a longtime Bristol resident before moving to Avon in 1971. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Mannings is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shawn and Dorothy (Dottie) Mannings of Berlin and Mark A. Mannings; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen Mannings of Avon and Christine and Charles Greene of New Hampshire; a brother, Clayton "Butch" Morgan of Bristol; and a sister, Rita and Herb Manke of New London; four grandchildren, Colleen, Ian, Olivia and Charles; three great-grandsons, Dylan, William and Benjamin; a great-granddaughter, Latisha; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Thelma Siering and Nancy Siering. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Matthew Church, Forestville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Road, Kensington, CT 06037.
