Obituary

Alfred W. Morgan was born April 27, 1925, to Walter and Martha Morgan in Trinidad, Colo. and raised in Williams, Ariz. After working for the El Tovar Lodge at the Grand Canyon, he joined the U.S. Army. He served during 1946 to 1947, and was stationed at Tokyo, Japan, Far Eastern Command, Motor Battalion. He performed combat duty in the South Pacific Campaign. He earned citations and awards including Eastern Theater, Victor Medal, Japan occupation and Cluster Citation Award. Upon honorable discharge in December 1947, Alfred returned to Flagstaff, Ariz. Employment prospects brought him to California.
In 1950, he began employment with Civil Engineering at George Air Force Base in Victorville. After 35 years of civil service, he retired as supervisor from George AFB. His wife of 50 years, Dolores, survives him, along with two sons Arthur and Russell and daughters Martha, Priscilla and Nadia. Their grandchildren, Arthur, AndrŽ, William and Tiffany survive him. Family, friends and former GAFB co-workers and those who knew him will profoundly miss him.
The family would like to fulfill Mr. Morgan's wish that the memory of their late daughter, Donna, a resource specialist teacher for 20 years at Adelanto School District, be remembered. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Donna Morgan Memorial Scholarship Fund, that has been established to accept donations at First Financial-Arrowhead Credit Union, 12600 Amargosa Road in Victorville, so that she may continue to help and support those children she taught and cared for so deeply. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Alternative Funeral Services, 16686 Victor St. in Victorville, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
A mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Victorville.
Interment will be at Desert View Memorial Park in Victorville.
