Age: 87, Pioneer area farmer and former member of the Tulsa County Excise-Equalization Board. Moved to Tulsa area from his native Lafayette, Ga when he was 20. He drove a mule team at a strip coal mines three years before turning to ranching. His original 40 acre farm on the present site of the Douglas Aircraft Company plant in Houston, and he also owned a large ranch near Oologah. In 1901 he became a charter member of the Dawson Odd Fellows Lodge and was believed to have been the last of the original 100 members. He received a special Joe Looney award for meritorious service with a 60-year membership jewel from the lodge in 1961. His first wife was Florence Delilah Flournoy, (they divorced) and he married Vida ?. Florence and Elbert had two daughters. Tulsa-Whisenhunt Funeral Home handled arrangments.
