Mrs. Pearson was born in Cherokee County, S.C. to the late Dever and Leila Traylor Morgan. She retired after 24 years as a spinner at Doran Textiles and was a hostess at Wendy's. She was a lifelong Baptist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Yates Pearson, two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Marelena Gold and husband Jim of Shelby; a granddaughter, Jennifer Arey and husband Bill of Shelby; and three sisters, Millie Greene of Polkville, Nell Morgan of Spartanburg, S.C., and Shirley Barton of Mount Croghan, S.C.
