KIA in Ottre area, Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge.
The Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Counteroffensive, was a major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II which took place from 16 December 1944 to 25 January 1945. It was launched through the densely forested Ardennes region between Belgium and Luxembourg towards the end of the war in Europe.

Pvt. Ray Morgan, 29, has been killed in action in Belgium on Jan. 19, according to word received from the War Department by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Winslow Morgan, of Rock Creek township, east of Delphi. He had only been overseas thirty days. Pvt. Morgan, who was serving in an armored division, enlisted June 26, 1944. Before entering service, he was employed on the H. B. Winslow farm. Survivors include the widow and two children, in addition to his mother, Mrs. Nellie Morgan, of Illinois.
