James Henderson Moran III, 90, of Dresden Tenn died Wednesday in the Obion County Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Shumate Moran, daughter Mrs. Robert W. Atkins Rochester N.Y.; two sons, N.H. Moran of Kansas City, MO., J.H. Moran IV Kingsport and eight grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
He attended the Vanderbilt Training school and Bell Buckle and was the last survivor of his law class at the University of Virginia. He was elected to the Tennessee Legislature in 1925 and sponsored the first Weakley County road bill. He also sponsored the first agriculture agent for Weakley County. He was Treasurer of the Tenn. Bankers Association in 1926 and was Senior Mortgage Risk Examiner for Tennessee's Federal Housing for over twenty years.
He was a member of the Dresden Methodist Church where funeral services will be held. The burial will be in the family cemetery. Plans are incomplete.
