| Birth: | Feb. 27, 1885 Monroe (Union Parish) Union Parish Louisiana, USA | | Death: | Jun. 17, 1965 Fort Worth Tarrant County Texas, USA | In 1925, Grandmother was widowed with 4 small children. She left Oklahoma and moved to Ft. Worth where she bought a house at 2736 Hemphill St. and took in boarders. Sometime later, she meet and married a wonderful man, Ted Opran. I remember he made a toy chest for me. I will never forget every single time I went to see her, she gave me lemon drops. She told me they were good for me. I also remember her piano and how my feet couldn't touch the pedals. Her dog,Tojo. How he mourned her death. He went to live with Tommie Jo in Virginia. My favorite memory is after her death. After I married, Memaw brought out some things Grandmother had bought for me through the years.( You have to understand, I had a step-daddy and... well, anyway, I wasn't allowed gifts from her because of him.) Anyway, Memaw gave me several little things that Grandmother had gotten through that time and saved until I was old enough to be rid of the step-dad. One thing was a little log cabin music box. I treasure it. And the memory.
