By marriage Jessie was a grandaunt to this contributor. In 1911 at Oakland, Caroline Co., MD she married Charles Chester Ashburn and they were the parents of six children; Betty, Doris, Gypsy, Ross, Dorothy and Robert. According to Frank Ashburn, a nephew of Charles and Jessie, an intense disagreement took place between Charles and Jessie later in their lives, and although they remained married they never again spoke to one another. From the time of the disagreement until the death of Charles, which according to Frank was years later, if there was something that needed to be communicated to the other it was done through an intermediary.
The cause of Jessie's death is unknown (to me). She died at 74 years, 0 months, and 8 days of age in Sweet Springs Nursing Home, believed to be in or near Rowlesburg, West Virginia
Though they refused to communicate with one another Charles and Jessie are buried side by side in Reedsville Cemetery, Reedsville, West Virginia.
