Funeral services for Mr. Albert E. Moore, lifetime resident of Pineville will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010.
Mr. Moore, 92, died peacefully, Friday, April 2, 2010, at his home in Pineville after an extended illness. For the past two years he was attended by wonderful caregivers.

Services for Mr. Moore will be in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville, with the Masonic Lodge officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Moore, part of the Greatest Generation, served as a Captain in the United States Army Air Corps with the 8th Air Force in Europe during World War II, and earned many service medals. After the war, he became a service engineer for RCA Victor, and subsequently retired from RCA. Mr. Moore had a long-time association with the Boy Scouts, going from scout to Scoutmaster and on to service as a scout Commisonaire. He was active in the YMCA, Kiwanis International, Lions International, the Pineville Club, and the American Legion. He was a long-time Mason and member of the Solomon Lodge No.221F.&A.M. He advanced through the Summit Council No.12, R.&S.M., Keystone Chapter No.44 Royal Arch Masons, Trinity Commandry No. 8 Knights Templar, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Shreveport, the El KARUBAH Temple, Shreveport and The International Association of Shrine Oriental Bands. He took great pleasure in playing in and traveling with the Oriental Band, and was a member Emeritus of that group.

Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley Matthews Moore, and by his parents, Albert Earl Moore and Edith Louise Pruitt Moore; brothers, Charles Moore and Fredrick Moore; sister, Marie M. Harper.

Survivors include his nephews, Chris Courtney, Mike Bronson, nieces, Jenny Moore, Evelyn Harper Callia and Bonnie Ferguson, first cousin Jay Francis Shinn and other cousins and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 until time of the service.
