He married Laura Mileur on January 26, 1921 in Murphysboro. Survivors include his wife and children, Roberta Parmley, Clarence Moore, Kenneth Moore, Robert Moore and Fred Moore, all of Murphysboro.
Mr. Moore was a retired farmer and a World War I veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the VFW Post 7190 of Murphysboro, the Jackson County Farm Bureau, and was on the Board of Directors of the Farm Bureau. He was also a former committee chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Murphysboro.
Mr. Moore died at the age of 81 at Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center, Chicago, after a long illness.
