Margueritte M. Lucas, 81, of Springfield died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at her home. She was born Aug. 15, 1919, in Springfield, the daughter of Royal Curtis and Nellie Kendell Moore Jr.
Mrs. Lucas was an auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. She was a member of St. Paul's AME Church for 70 years, where she was a pianist, missionary steward, layman and church conference secretary.
Survivors: three nieces, including Barbara Rochelle of Springfield; three great-nephews; and several cousins.
Services: St. Paul's AME Church, the Rev. Gary McCants officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
