Alexander, husband of Ellen Carroll Moore, father of Michael, James B., Alexander J., Catherine A. Court, Ellen F. Donnelly, Daniel E. and Thomas E. Moore. Immigrated from Ireland in 1847, during the great famine, served in the Civil War, 90th Illinois Infanty, Co F, 1862-1865.
Moore: Died at 11:45 o'clock Friday morning, March 13, 1908 at St. John's Hospital. Alexander of this city, aged 84 years. Deceased had been a resident of this city for the past fifty years. He was a veteran of the civil war, having served in the Ninetieth Illinois Infanty, and for three years was under General Sherman.
He is survived by his four sons, Alexander Moore Jr. of Chicago and James B., Daniel and Thomas Moore, all of this city; two daughters, Mrs. P.H. Donnelly of Chicago, and Mrs. Robert Court of this city, thirty two grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
The remains were removed to the residence of his son, J. B. Moore, 1803 East Jackson Street, where the funeral will be held 9:00 o'clock Monday morning and at 9:30 o'clock from the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the Rev. Father Hickey, rector of the church, officiating. The interment will be made in Calvary cemetery.
