Elijah Moore Dead

Elijah Moore, an old time resident of French and for many years postmaster at that place died at his home there at 7 o'clock Sunday evening of dropsy. He had been sick only five days. He retained his memory up to within a short time of his death. He leaves a son, Harry P. Moore, and two daughters, Mrs. Clara M. Sanger, and Ida M. Sanger, the latter residing at Hildreth, Nebr.

Deceased was born in Berks Co., Pa., Nov 5th, 1833 and would have been 75 years of age had he lived until his next birthday. He came to Wyoming in 1865, while it was a part of the Territory of Colorado. He returned to this state again in 1878 and remained a citizen from that time on to his death. He had a ranch near the North Platte river and had accumulated a modest competence. He lived quietly and was honest conscientious citizen, esteemed by all who knew him.

The remains were interred in the city cemetery here by the side of his wife who died in 1903. The funeral took place at 3 o'clock Tuesday, the remains being brought down from French. Rev. Forde officiated at the grave.
