Doris Nell McCallon, age 83, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was born October 14, 1929 in Lynn County to William (Bud) and Eula Moore. She moved to Wolfforth, Texas as a preschooler. She spent her entire school years in Frenship schools graduating with honors and then attended Texas Tech.
On November 24, 1948, she married Cleon McCallon in the First Baptist Church Wolfforth, where she was a life time member. She spent most of her life as a homemaker on the farm south of Wolfforth with her husband of 64 years. She excelled becoming a Life Master playing duplicate bridge after her sons graduated school. She was also a member of a bowling league for many years.
Doris is survived by her husband, Cleon; a son, Byron McCallon and wife Sherry of Wolfforth; a son, Myron McCallon and wife Kim of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Jamie McCallon of Lubbock, Michelle Airhart and husband Colton of Weatherford, Laurel McCallon of Lubbock, Brook McCallon of Denton, and Dylan McCallon of Lubbock; two great-grandsons, Austin and Corbin Airhart of Weatherford.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th, 2013. Chapel services will be held in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel, 5740 w. 19th Street, Lubbock, TX at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013.
