Lillian "Babe" Condra, 98, a longtime resident of Taylor, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 at the SPJST Assisted Living Facility. Mrs. Condra was born in Ben Arnold, Texas, April 28, 1912, the daughter of Amanda (Guthrie) and Frank D. Moore.
She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and the Woman's Study Club.
Oct. 10, 1936, she married Ray Condra, who preceded her in death in May of 2004. Together they owned and operated Condra Funeral Home for nearly 40 years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and beloved sister, Mattie Ree "Sissie" Noble, and brother-in-law Donald Lacy Noble.
She leaves behind her loving caregivers, Jodie and Trona Blaha, Rev. Dudley and Debbie Marx and Leroy and Bobbie Sigle.
We wish to thank Dr. Nathan Cohen and the nurses at Scott and White Hospital, all of the round-the-clock sitters, hospice and the staff at the SPJST Assisted Living for all the love and care they bestowed on her.
A prayer service will be conducted by Dr. Paul Powell beginning at 6 p.m. with visitation following from 7 to 8 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home Tuesday, Oct. 5.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at Taylor City Cemetery with the Rev. Dudley Marx and Dr. Paul Powell officiating.
