Born May 23, 1908, in Fort Worth, Rosa Lee was the first born of Luke and Eva Moore. She was a product of the Fort Worth schools and received her B.S. degree in home economics from Prairie View A&M University and her M.S. degree from the University of Illinois. Mrs. Denson was a dedicated educator, beginning her career at Gay Street Elementary, where Mrs. Lottie Hamilton was principal. She later moved to I.M. Terrell with J. Martin Jacquet as principal. Rosa Lee was extremely proud that Mr. Jacquet insisted she go with him to what was formerly Paul Lawrence Dunbar Junior-Senior High as the only home economics teacher. She continued to serve in that capacity until her retirement from the "new school" on Ramey Avenue. Rosa Lee was a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Beta Mu Omega Chapter and the eldest charter member of the Ethel Ransom Cultural Club. She was an active member of Fort Worth Association of Federated Women's Clubs until her health failed. Rosa Lee, along with her siblings, accepted Christ at historic Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained active until she married her college sweetheart, Samuel Walter Prince, the late son of the late Rev. S.R. Prince, and moved her membership to Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church on Baptist Hill. "Sister" showed her faithfulness by moving along with her brothers and sisters in Christ to the new location on Evans Avenue. In August 1966, Rosa found true love again, with Harry Harold Denson. They shared a full and happy life until his demise in 2004.
Rosa Lee Denson was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Moore; sister, Eva Doris Wilson; brother, retired Maj. Luke R. Moore; father, Luke Moore; and her husband, Harry Denson.
Survivors: Her youngest sister, Gloria "Joy Baby" Moore Houston; and her only niece, Joyce Evalyn Daily (Doug).
