Anna Moore

Anna Lou Rogers Mason Moore, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.

She was born March 15, 1921, in McMinn County, a daughter of the late Luther P. and Rena Benton Rogers. She was a resident of the Middle Valley area since 1946.

She was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church and the Amazing Grace Sunday School Class, where she was secretary for 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the Hamilton County P.T.A., an 11-year volunteer at Memorial North Park Hospital, and was a member and past president of Hamilton County Food Service. She was a past Worthy Matron of Daisy Eastern Star 328 and Grand Representative for the State of Missouri. She was retired from Ganns Middle Valley School cafeteria as manager for 24 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, K.C. Moore; six brothers and eight sisters.

Survivors include her twin sister, Nell McKheen of Athens; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert "Bobby" and Kathy Mason of Hixson, and William "Leroy" Mason of Cleveland; three grandchildren and their spouses, Robby and Jennifer Mason of Hixson, Lori Bradshaw and her fiancÚ, Davy Rose, both of Ringgold, Ga., and Chris and Terry Mason of Dayton; six great-grandchildren; four stepchildren and two spouses, Jerry and Billie Moore of Ringgold, Ga., Nancy Giddens of Trenton, Ga., K.C. and Mike Moore Jr. of Chattanooga, and Mary Ann Gardner of Trenton, Ga.; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and lots of friends and neighbors.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and management of Red Bank Life Care Center for their kindness and care of Mrs. Moore.

Funeral services were 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bell and the Rev. Roger Dehart officiating. Burial followed in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Members of the Amazing Grace Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers.

The family received friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lupton Drive Baptist Church Missions, 859 Lupton Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37415.

Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist of Hixson was in charge of arrangements.
