Bina Elizabeth Crew passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006. Bina was born in Shawnee, OK on Jan. 15, 1916, the youngest of seven children of Maude and James F. Moore. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1932 and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. Bina married John Harry Crew in 1939 in Oklahoma City and shared 54 wonderful years until his death in Jan. 1993. She is also preceded in death by her 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Bina is survived by their two daughters, Karen Sauntry and her husband Tim of Frisco, TX and Melanie Kelley and her husband Steve of Mansfield, TX. Bina lovingly known as 'Mimi' is survived by two granddaughters, Kristen Ybarra and her husband Warren of Frisco and Ann Bonner and her husband Stewart of Austin; two great-grandchildren, Kourtney and Crew Ybarra. Survivors also included several nieces. Bina was very active in volunteer work in the community, church, and hospital. Bina and John were charter members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Okla. City. They were both very active in all areas of church life and served as Sunday School teachers for several years. Bina served in many of the women's circles as an officer and as President of Westminster Woman's Association, as well as on Synod General Council. Bina was one of the first women to be ordained as an elder in Westminster and served two years on the church staff as Parish Coordinator. Bina served on the Board United Church Women for 16 years and as a Chaplin's aide for three years. Bina was a volunteer in Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary for eight years and joined the staff as Gift Shop Manager for 10 and a half years. Bina and John involved themselves in welcoming international students and visitors through the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Host Committee. Bina had a full life and cherished the time she and John shared with family and friends at their cabin on Grand Lake. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
