Mary Moore Hardin
ALBANY — Mrs. Mary Moore Hardin, 70, of 204 Eckles Road, Americus passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 23, 2011, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Aldridge Funeral Services, and at other times at the family residence, 204 Eckles Road Americus.
Mrs. Hardin was born April 15, 1940, in Granite Falls, N.C., the daughter of the late Clarence Gordon Moore and Emma Newman Moore. She taught school, worked for the IRS and in her later years was a home maker. Mrs. Hardin loved to play bridge and was a member of the Jr. Service League and the Hat and Hoe Garden Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Americus where she taught Sunday School for 25 years and was a member of the Epthworth Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Hardin is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Franklin Howard Hardin Sr. of Americus, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Lee Hardin and Sonya of Columbus, Ga., and Michael Moore Hardin and Christy of Americus, Ga.; a sister, Elizabeth Moore Morgan of Norris Tenn.; four grandchildren, Brandon Taylor Hardin and Spencer Lee Hardin of Columbus, Ga., and Emma Isabelle Hardin and Aubrey Lin Hardin of Americus, Ga.; one niece and two nephews. Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by a son Franklin Howard Hardin Jr.
