Johnny Ray Moore, 43, of Caruthersville, died June 25 at the William Bowld Hospital in Memphis. Born Oct. 8, 1951, in Haines City, Fla., he was the son of Margie Moore and the late Alvin Moore.
He attended schools in Caruthersville and enlisted in the U.S. Army on Dec. 21, 1970, at St. Louis. He received his Honorable Discharge on Oct. 29, 1973, at Fort Jackson, S.C. He was employed as a printer at the Pemiscot Publishing Co., in Caruthersville.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Moore of Caruthersville; his mother, Margie Moore of Caruthersville; a son, Johnny Ray Moore, Jr., of Caruthersville; two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Moore and Regina Anne Moore, both of Caruthersville; six sisters, Shirley Ervin of Caruthersville, Betty Mott of Michigan, Shiela Bowen of Iberia, Mo., Ruthie Ann Faulk of Florida, Louise Munkersterm of Belleville, Ill., and Betty Chappell of Florida; five brothers, Bill Moore of Black Oak, Ark., Jerry Moore of Blytheville, Bobby and Tommy Moore, and Harry James Fields, Jr., all of Caruthersville; and a grandson, Kohlyn Ray Moore of Caruthersville.
Services were June 28 at Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church, the Rev. James Mills officiating with burial in Maple Cemetery, the H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville in charge.
